At Scott’s Collision it is our priority to get you and your vehicle back on the road
quickly. The repair process can vary by accident type
but here is a brief example of what
may occur with major collision damage.
First the vehicle must be inspected to see where it was damaged and to what extent. An initial estimate is developed from this assessment. The insurance company or Scott’s Collision can do this. The insurance company will usually want their own adjuster to assess the damage. Parts are then ordered from the items listed on the estimate and may arrive in a few days depending on availability.
Vehicle disassembly is the next step, in which parts are removed from the vehicle because they are being replaced or they will be repaired off the vehicle. Sometimes additional damage is discovered and a supplement must be filed with the insurance company to add the additional cost to the insurance claim.
Once parts have arrived vehicle assembly can begin. Fit and alignment of parts are checked and adjusted at this time. Then the vehicle and/or its parts are prepped and painted.
After the paint is dry to the touch the vehicle is inspected for fit and finish. We guarantee a color match and strive for high quality repairs. The vehicle is also inspected for safety and function. Finally the vehicle is cleaned and returned to you when it meets our “Excellence Every Time” standard.
